2011

Last Night, Mary Star and and I did some press in support of PULL. While I can't give you more details (yet), it was a filmed interview that will appear on national television as well as the Internet.
On our way to the studio, we passed by THAI BOAT for strong drink and enough take-out spring rolls to keep the shows producers distracted while we shanghaied their format and tried to answer every on air question by mentioning the names of the rest of TEAM VISCERAL who should have been there with us.
Director of Photography: SASHA POPOVE
Editor: JAYSON COOPER
Original Score: JOHN FURRY (BTDAD) OHAMA w/ Fat Pat (TGE)
Audio: SCOTT JOHNS
2nd UNIT: OLIVIER BOLMOKUNE
as well as YONAS ZEWDU and ZOE CARLSON

Here's a two minute preview of PULL, currently in post production.

On another note, I would like to direct you to a blog containing a window into a very different world than most of us want to consider, prison. The blog is administered by the sister of an inmate serving time in Angola for 2nd degree murder.
The things we don't understand, we fear and dehumanize. Listening does not imply sympathy, but it does offer a chance to learn something about ourselves, one another and the world we all share, by offering back some humanity to those we marginalize. Letters from Prison: Doing Life in Angola is a courageous attempt to shed a light on a window to the world most of us prefer to ignore.
Also, take a moment to visit folk troubadour, Billy Braggs Jail Guitar Doors and Write A Prisoner.

October 2010

Last month we completed our first leg of shooting for our feature film, PULL. We shot By The Darkness & Dawn in Kananaskis. Our DOP, Sasha Popove, flew in from Vancouver and we promptly located a good bottle of red wine to celebrate the event.
Mary Star and Zoe Carlson starred, with Star wearing multiple hats, as she is one of the producers, as well.

View more stills from the weeknd at the D&D Photoalbum.

Have been involved with a few acting projects over the summer (see film link for more info).

Also, got the 3H Club up and running. We sell Hula Hoops, Humus, and Hammocks.

July PT. 2

In August, I will be in Christopher Beegers THE PRINCIPLES OF LIVING.

September I will transition from acting to directing. First, in the documentary 14 DAYS TO THE CAGE and then in the short film, BY THE DARKNESS & DAWN.

Picture taken on set of THE 19TH WIFE, earlier this month. That beard got a lil itchy after 10 hours, but whose complaining? They paid to dress up like a Mormon Cowboy:)

July 2010

The pictures above are bills for a new photography exhibit/book I am working on.

Just finished shooting A MODEL EMPLOYEE, with director Olivier Balokume, and this week I play a rioting villager who takes issue with the rise of the Mormons, in THE 19TH WIFE.

March 2010

*Over 600 photos from my trip to Ethiopia can now be viewed by following the link to your left.
**Three Kingdoms, a article about my adventures in Mexico (with the Zapatista's), Northern Ireland, and Ethiopia has been published by a handful of magazines and even a couple newspapers in Africa. Read online now by clicking here.

Two book projects on the go. The first one is a collection of short fiction based on the songs of Roky Erickson. I have edited and contributed to this collection. We have a whole mess of talent involved in this one, with writers from as far away as Sweden, France and Japan. It is a great treat to be working on a project that has allowed me to be a part of this great mans life. If you don't know who Roky Erickson is, check out this trailer of a documentary made about him:

By autumn, I hope to have the Where Happiness Lives, my Africa journals, ready for publication. It has been a long journey to wrestle with the words in a way that does justice to the experience - one that continues to have great impact on my life on a daily basis.

In the meantime, you can read the article THREE KINGDOMS that was published by three newspapers in Ethiopia, Canadian Dimensions, and is made available online via Paranoia Magazine.

Here is something you can chew on: a cover of Nirvana`s You Know You`re Right.

The European tour will start August 1st in Hamburg, Germany; we are still waiting to see if we are confirmed for the Japan dates in May!

Coming out in 2010 will be Tucker and Dale vrs. Evil. I got to play a psycotic hillbilly and chase college girls through the forest with a machete!

After a year of no updates, I hope this suffices.
